Are there any great wineries in Western Washington? Absolutely! Medicine Creek Winery Olympia, Washington is a delightful boutique winery serving award winning wines in an 1880’s style tasting room. The winery is located on a farm in the Nisqually Valley, near Olympia, Washington, right at the headwaters of Medicine Creek itself.
The Nisqually Valley is an area steeped in deep historical significance and is thought to be the original homestead of James McCallister, who settled the area way back in the mid 1800’s. The winery building is a barn erected in the 1990’s and originally was a produce market. Over the years the owners transformed the barn to fulfill their lifelong dream of creating fine wines.

Located in the barn is the tasting room, wine processing area, barrel room and dance floor. Visiting the award winning tasting room is like stepping back in time to a 1800’s New Orleans brothel. From the tasting room you will be able to view the barrel room and dance floor and, if you time it right, observe the wine makers doing their magic.
